Paying for In Home Care

Paying for In Home Care

In Home Care is typically paid three ways

Private Pay

Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance. Many LTC policies cover in-home care. We help numerous clients with LTC insurance and can review your policy for free.

Veteran’s Benefit. The VA has an in-home care benefit called the VA Aid and Attendant Benefit. We have a flyer explaining this benefit and the eligibility qualifications.

Compare In Home Care to Community Care

Per an AARP study, over 90% of seniors want to stay in their homes v. aging in a skilled nursing community.

We are not surprised. We help >125 seniors stay SAFELY in their home.

In-home care v. Community Care

– Fully 1:1 attendant care v. 15-30 aide to attendant ratio
– In the senior’s home v. a new environment
– Life on their schedule v. living life on the community’s schedule

Comparing Costs

In Johnson County, here are the average costs for skilled care per month. Cost will vary depending on the care level needed.

Assisted Living: $4,500-8,000
Memory Care: $6,000-8,000
Skilled Nursing: $8,000-10,000

In most cases, Benefit of Home can meet the senior’s care needs and provide a customized schedule delivering full 1:1 care in the senior’s home that meets any budget. We can provide a substantial amount for what you pay in a skilled community.

Due to COVID and staffing, community costs have also been rising very rapidly.
